No change in board exam centres from ‘17
Panaji: The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has disallowed students from seeking a change in examination centres from the 2017 Class X and XII public exams. Officials said a change will be allowed only in exceptional cases like disabilities.
“In some areas, especially Porvorim, students attend school in Panaji but want to change their examination centre to Porvorim. We will allow a change in centres in this case only upto 2016 as the Mandovi bridge is under construction and can lead to genuine traffic congestion issues. Once the bridge is ready by 2017, students should not have these issues,” Goa Board chairperson Jose Remedios Rebello said. The issue was raised at a board meeting by members about why students should have a problem answering the exam from a Panaji centre, when they attend school in the area through the year.
