Over 20,261 Class X students to appear across 27 centres; Exam for main subjects concludes on April 12; Vocational papers end on April 21
PANJIM: Over 20,261 Class X students will appear for their Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination from Monday across 27 centres. The examination conducted by Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GBSHSE) will conclude on April 12 for main subjects.
The examination for vocational subjects will be also held simultaneously, with first paper scheduled on April 2- Floriculture. The vocational papers end on April 21.
Of the 20,261 students, 10,163 are boys while 10,098 are girls. The number of students answering SSC exams this year is more as compared to last year 2017, when around 17,300 students had appeared.
The examination on Monday will begin with First Language paper that is English/ Marathi/ Urdu as opted by the students. The next paper is Mathematics on April 4, followed by Second Language paper Hindi/ Sanskrit/ Portuguese/ Arabic on April 5.
April 6 is holiday for the main stream students. However, the vocational students will have to answer bakery/ food processing/ horticulture/ electronic papers.
Social science paper I is scheduled on April 7, while paper II is on April 9. On April 11, students will answer Science paper and on Third Language paper is on April 12, which the last day. However, the papers for vocational stream will continue.
The 27 centres are spread across Panjim, Margao, Mapusa, Bicholim, Canacona, Cuncolim, Aldona, Pernem, Pilar, Ponda, Sanquelim, Vasco, Navelim, Porvorim, Quepem, Marcel, Mangueshi, Sanguem, Shiroda, Siolim, Tisk-Dharbandora, Valpoi, Mandrem, Calangute, Verna, Mashem and Curchorem.
