Regional consultation on new education policy to be held tomorrow in Goa

A one-day Regional consultation on New Education Policy for western region will be held in Goa University here tomorrow.A statement here today said the consultation is being organised by National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), New Delhi, in collaboration with Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) and support from Directorate of Education.The Ministry of Human Resource Development is formulating a new education policy using inclusive and participatory approach to address the changing needs of society.The regional consultation is being organised to outline informed recommendations and responses that may add to and enrich the proposed education policy. For this, it aims at understanding, experiences and vision of education practitioners and to deliberate upon some selected themes to be able to formulate well-informedrecommendations that can be submitted to the National Task Force.Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar will attend the programme along with Priyank Kanoongo, member, NCPCR, and Dr Sushma Kirtani, chairperson, Goa SCPCR.

Representatives from SCPCRs, University vice-chancellors,teachers, principals, students and those working in the field ofeducation from six states — Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, MadhyaPradesh, Maharashtra — will attend the consultation, the release added.
