GCCI hosts 4th state level business plan

GCCI hosted the I Create State level business plan competition under its entrepreneurship development program, Change the mindset (CMS). Seven colleges took part in the five-day workshop which aimed at equipping students with basic entrepreneurship skills. These skills allow students to choose entrepreneurship as a career option upon graduation, thereby changing them from job seekers to job creators.

The state level business plan competition had a representative from each college. Judges from the industry, Ajay Gramapadhaya of Morson graphics and CFO of Smartlink Industries, Guruprasad Prabhu shared inputs and advice with students. Participating colleges were St Xavier’s College, Mapusa; Dyanprassarak Mandal’s College, Assagao; S S Dempo, Panaji; MES College, Vasco; Rosary College, Navelim; Carmel College, Nuvem and Shree Damodar College, Margao.

Valdo Fernandes of Rosary College Navelim won first place for his business plan of Moblie School, Pravin Devang of Dyanprassarak Mandal’s College, Assagao won second place for his business plan of catering to industrial workers. Runners-up were Taniya Nadkarni of S S Dempo College with a Healthy Food Café business plan and Alkesh Desai of Shree Damodar College with Senior Citizen Day Care Centre.

The Manguirish Pai Raikar rolling trophy was awarded to Valdo Fernandes while others received cash prizes and certificates.
