Panaji: The Class XII exam of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education will be held from February 29 to March 22, as per the final exam timetable released by the board. The exam will be answered by around 15,000 students.
This year, the timetable has been planned in a manner that gives students ample breaks to study during the exam. After the English first language paper on February 29, students will get a day’s break and then another two days’ break before the exam resumes on March 4. There will be three other breaks during the course of the exam.
While the science stream exam ends on March 21, arts students will answer their last paper for the exam on March 22.
For students in the commerce stream, the exam will end on March 19. The exams for the three streams will be held from 10am to 12.30pm.
The vocational stream exam will begin on March 1 and end on March 17. Starting at 10am, the exam timing for students of the stream will be of two-hour duration. The dates and timings will be the same in the case of children with special needs, for whom a separate timetable is prepared by the Goa board.
When compared to last year, the overall number of students answering the Class XII exam is down by around 100.
As per Goa board rules, students that arrive later than half an hour after the start of the exam will not be allowed to answer it, and students will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before 11am.
